Procam Projects proudly provided filming equipment and crew to Electric Light Studios (ELS) for the official live music video of Taylor Swift performing ‘The Man’, an acoustic version of the single recorded during Swift’s intimate concert at L’Olympia Bruno Coquatrix, Paris, back in September 2019. The 'City of Lover' show was unique in that it was attended only by competition winners, and so saw fans from 37 countries fill a venue that has a capacity of less than 2000.
The live video, directed by Dan Massie of ELS, shows an intimate, stripped back performance of the synth-pop track from the 2019 album 'Lover', with Swift playing her acoustic guitar against a black backdrop, performing live for the first time in the way that she had composed the song.
For the filming of the performance, Procam Projects supplied a Technical Manager / Guarantee Engineer and a Camera Assistant, who travelled over to Paris for a rig day with the ELS team before the day of the concert. Seven ARRI ALEXA Mini cameras were provided, alongside camera support including a Freefly MōVI Pro Gimbal and three Easyrig Vario 5s with Flowcine Serene Arms. Three bespoke single-axis lens control systems were used on three of the camera set ups for wireless iris control, whilst the remaining cameras used ARRI FF4 wired follow focus systems. The team also supplied comms and a fibre system to feed back to the Pro Truck where the production and engineering galleries were.
